One minute it was blue skies and the next dark as night said in describing the thunderstorm that slammed Bristol Township Tuesday evening.
Tryon responded to a call of a funnel cloud-shaped touching down on the 700 block of Church Street, he said.

There were two mattresses out front of the residence and they were sucked up into a funnel cloud the homeowner told the chief.
Tryon chief said he called the report into county officials.
Officials from the National Weather Service were not available to comment on the possible funnel cloud as of press time.

The storm which blasted Lower Bucks around 6 p.m. came with a fury, with winds knocking down trees, taking out power lines, and causing temporary power outages throughout.

Reports of street lights flickering and going out on Route 13, trees snapping and winds knocking over anything and everything not tied down poured into LevittownNow’s Facebook page. Residents of Bristol Borough, Falls and Middletown reported several downed limbs and power loss.
Fire police directed drivers at some busy intersections and generators powered others around 9 p.m. in Bristol Township.
According to PECO, there were approximate 17,000 customers impacted by the storm in Bucks County shortly after 7 p.m. That number was down 13, 000 an hour later, PECO Spokesperson Fred Mahere said.

Trees falling on to power lines, caused many of the outages that crews were working on and knocking out quickly, Mahere said.
