The Neshaminy School Board voted to approve a new contract with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit that will end up saving between $1.8 and $1.9 million per year.

The district was able to attain the savings through a new collective bargaining agreement with certified staff and other measures, Superintendent Robert Copeland told LevittownNow.com. At the meeting, Copeland said the district would be able to save the money and keep up the same level of service to students.

Of the projected $1.8 to $1.9 million in savings, officials said roughly $900,000 would be used to fund the much-talked about full-day kindergarten program the district hopes to start come fall.
District officials first talked about the plan earlier this year.
