A combination of low relative humidity and winds potentially topping out at 30 miles per hour with gusts cresting at 35 mph led to the National Weather Service issuing a fire watch for Wednesday.

Falls Township Fire Marshal Rich Dippoilito said these conditions can truly be a problem when you take into account illegal out door burning.

“Even though open burning fires are not supposed to happen people do it and this potentially leads to problems, like brush fires,” said Dippoilito.

Forecasters at the weather service say the fire watch is in effect from Wednesday morning to Wednesday evening.

With humidity values as low as 29 percent tomorrow and high winds and gusts, the service is warning the public to take fire preventive measures.
