Boom! That’s the noise you might hear this weekend.
Officials at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey say personnel of base will be conducting artillery firing, mortar firing and demolitions training Friday through Sunday.

The training is expected to end by 11 p.m. each day, base officials report.
The explosions from training at the base can often be heard from the Levittown area.
“This training is essential and helps to ensure the readiness of America’s fighting force. Residents may hear more noise than usual coming from the ranges and may experience possible ground shaking due to the training. It is important to note that noise from the ranges may travel farther during overcast weather conditions,” according from a statement from the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst press office.
