Falls Township police have charged a New Jersey with stealing from cars and using stolen credit and debit cards in some cases.

Katerra Paige, 34, of Hamilton, N.J. was charged recently with multiple counts of theft, forgery, identity theft and related offenses. She is currently in jail and unable to post bail.

According to police, Paige is behind several thefts all taking place at the shopping center that houses the Retro Fitness and Pathmark. The thefts allegedly took place between March 15 and March 22.

Paige was captured last week in the shopping center when an off-duty police sergeant recognized her as a suspect and called on-duty officers. Officers arrived, she ran and crouched down next to a vehicle parked near the Tuesday Morning store in an attempt to hide, police said.

Witnesses confirmed Paige was the person they saw at the time of the thefts and using stolen credit and debits cards at nearby stores, according to court papers.

Paige was reportedly spotted wearing light-colored gloves following some of the thefts and took a cab in one case.

Police gathered surveillance video of Paige and receipts of purchases made with the stolen cards, court papers say.
