The daughter of a Bucks County judge pleaded guilty Thursday to making bomb threats against Bucks County Community College’s Newtown campus last year.

Laura Thomas, 22, of Blooming Glen, will be under court supervision for the next three years and have to have a mental health evaluation but will not face jailtime, according to a report from the Doylestown Intelligencer newspaper. Thomas is the daughter of County Judge Rea Boylan, who presided over the Danny DeGennaro murder trials  last summer. The trial for Thomas was moved to Montgomery County and handled by their district attorney’s office to avoid a conflict of interest.

Law enforcement responded the Newtown campus in early October after a Thomas allegedly called 9-1-1 and said a bomb would go off in two hours, according to police. Authorities worked to track down where the threat came from.

Using GPS tracking of the cell phone the call came from, police said they determined the phone was somewhere on the sprawling campus, which is located by Tyler State Park. Dispatchers also relayed information on the suspect.

Thomas was located and taken into custody a short time later. No explosives were discovered.

The Newtown campus attracts students from throughout the area. The school also maintains a campus in Bristol Township and another in Perkasie.
