Marqessa Gesualdi has dreams of opening and running her own pastry shop one day.
“Q,” as she is affectionately known to family, friends, and yours truly, can now taste that reality so much more today.

Her lemon bar pastry appears and was reviewed on PhillyMag.com on January 23 and then The City Paper the following day. The treat received the acclaim many in Bristol already know she deserves.
“It’s really exciting to be on the ground floor with an up and coming chef like Kevin Sbraga. I’m looking forward to making my mark in the pastry world,” said Gesualdi Tuesday afternoon.
Not one to brag about her accomplishments, the write-up and review were posted on her mother’s Facebook page late Monday night, as her mom wanted to brag to the world about her daughter’s accomplishment.

City Paper reviewer, Adam Erace called Gesualdi “a pastry star in the making.”
A life long Bristol resident who comes from a family that loves to cook , bake, and delight the pallet, Gesualdi was promoted to assistant bakery chef this past September at Sbraga’s, which she said modestly was a “cool thing.”

Gesualdi studied culinary arts at Bucks County Technical High School, graduating in 2006 and studied chef apprenticeship pastry emphasis at Bucks County Community College, graduating in 2009.
She’s been baking and creating her way to the hearts of many with her delicious desserts in the Bristol area for sometime now.
Locals in the area familiar with “Q” know all to well about the hours in between her duties at the Philadelphia restaurant working on what she loves most about her job, “creating,” she said.

The 25-year-old said she hopes one day soon she can her open her own pastry shop but for now she’s focused continuing to grow her craft and the taste buds of those who get to sample her delicious baking, including the fresh bread she is often pulling out of the oven at home.
Ask for chocolate chip cookies and you’ll see what many of us in Bristol know already.
