Bristol Township Councilwoman Amber Longhitano announced on Wednesday that she will not be challenging State Rep. Tina Davis in the May Democratic primary for her seat in the state legislature.
Rumored for months now, Longhitano, who is in her third year as council member was considering a run to unseat the incumbent Davis on the democratic side.

Citing her commitment to the residents of Bristol Township, the Croydon resident said, “While I am deeply honored by this confidence in me, I feel a strong obligation to the residents of Bristol Township who elected me to represent them at the local level. Although Bristol Township is definitely heading in the right direction, there is still much work to be done. I promised the people of this township that I would do my very best on their behalf, and this commitment requires me to serve my full four-year term.”

Longhitano, who has gained the respect of many in the township for her passion and willingness to speak out on a number of issues, told LevittownNow.com in February she ย hadn’t decided ย whether to run or not, ย thanked the many supporters who had reached out to her in support of her potential candidacy.
“I would like to thank the many supporters that have contacted me as well as the numerous organizations, businesses and trades that have offered me their support to run for Pennsylvania State Representative in the 141st district. It is very encouraging that there are so many citizens and organizations in our community who are in search of good government, and focused on electing public servants who share that commitment.”
