Two men were charged Friday afternoon in connection with burglary at the McDonald’s restaurant on West Lincoln Highway in Middletown Township.
The alleged McBurglars are shift manager William Danhart IV, 28, of Bristol Township’s Levittown section, and Ernest Warrington, 21, of Philadelphia. Both are charged with theft, two counts of burglary and related offenses.

Detective Patrick Nicastro outlined in court papers that the burglary of the fast food eatery happened on the afternoon of February 13 after the store shut down early due to a snow storm.
Warrington is accused of entering the store using a key about an hour after the restaurant closed. He is seen on security camera video walking to the McDonald’s safe and taking what was later determined to be just over $4,600, according to court papers. Police said Warrington wore all black, including a ski face mask and “distinctive” winter coat, during the burglary.
In the surveillance video, Warrington is then seen walking across the street to the area of the Denny’s restaurant, police said.

The general manager for the fast food location discovered the money was missing early the next morning and called police.
The general manager, according to police, said he suspected one of the his mangers was involved. He later stated he though Danhart may have been because he caught him going into the safe for no reason the previous day. He also recalled the 28-year-old saying he would be going to Denny’s after the McDonald’s closed due to the storm, court papers say.

Police reviewed security video from the Denny’s and saw Danhart and Warrington entering the quick-service eatery minutes after McDonald’s closed. The two left about 50 minutes later and Warrington was wearing a coat s “very similar” to the one police observed the burglar inside the McDonald’s wear, according to court papers.
Warrington admitted during an interview with police that he planned the robbery while inside the Denny’s after initially scheming while at work. Warrington also turned over the distinctive jacket and mask during his interview, police said.
Following the burglary, Danhart and Warrington split up the money and took an equal cut, police said.

Danhardt told police in an interview that he provided Warrington with the jacket, mask, store key and safe passscode, court papers report.
Danhart and Warrington were arraigned Friday afternoon before District Judge Daniel Baranoski. Danhardt was remanded to Bucks County prison on 10 percent of $50,000 bail, and Warrington is free on $25,000 unsecured bail.
