A Falls Township police dog named Trigger found a man police believe had a a gun on him late Tuesday.
Police were dispatched to the Commons of Fallsington apartments on Makefield Road around 11:30 p.m. after receiving a 9-1-1 call where the person on the other end gave an address and hung up. In the background, the dispatcher could hear a man in the background arguing, court papers say.

An officer arrived and a woman claimed James Jones, 26, of Trenton, had hit her, police said, adding she asked to have him arrested.
Jones and the woman began arguing in front of a police officer. Then, the officer wrote in court papers, Jones “put his hands” on the woman “right in front of me.”
Police were able to separate the two and questioned Jones. He began to stall and avoid questions from authorities as they were speaking with him, according to court papers.

As police went to handcuff Jones, he fled, police said.
An officer yelled for him to stop and eventually let his trained police dog catch up to the man and hold onto him until officers on foot could get to him, police said.

A single shot zip gun – an improvised firearm made of spare items and often used by gang members – was recovered about five feet from where police found Jones, according to court papers.
Police said Jones fought back as they tried to take him into custody, even punch an officer in the testicles as they tried to control the 26-year-old.
Jones was charged with possession of a prohibited firearm, firearm not to be carried without a license, aggravated assault, resisting arrest and related offenses. He was arraigned early Wednesday morning before on-call District Judge Jean Seaman and sent to county lockup on 10 percent of $150,000.
