A benefit walk and run will be held this spring in memory of a Bucks County Technical High School senior who was killed when he was struck by a car walking to his bus stop.
The Ryan Strong 5K Walk and Run will be held at Bucks County Technical High School on March 30. The proceeds of the race will benefit Bucks County Technical High School and Gift of Life Family House.

The organizers of the event are looking for local businesses help make the run, which is in its second year, a success.
“We are in need of monetary donations, as well as snacks and drinks that can be handed out to participants of the run,” Alice Viola, mother of Ryan Viola, said in an email.

Ryan Viola passed away shortly after being struck by a car in Bensalem. His organs were donated and help five people. The 17-year-old has been described as a “beloved son, protective older brother, and a genuine friend who will be sadly missed by so many.”

The high school senior had hopes of joining the United States Army and was in the Electrical Occupations Technology Program at the technical high school. He planned to follow his grandfather’s footsteps working in an electrical occupation and helped with community organizations.
