A New Jersey-based company is developing plans to bring hundreds of new residences to Middletown Township.
Zoning Director Pat Duffy confirmed for LevittownNow.com that Ingerman Development Company of Cherry Hill, N.J. has submitted an early sketch of a proposed complex consisting of 480 residences. The development would be built off Woodbourne Road behind Kmart. He said no traffic or engineering studies have been completed and the process is in its infancy.

The sketch submitted to the township consists of 374 apartments spread through 22 buildings and 106 townhomes over 11 buildings. Early plans also call for a community building and spots for recreation.
The lot the development is proposed for is currently zoned commercials and would likely have to be rezoned, Duffy said.
Ingerman Development Company is planning to hold a special meeting to present the plan and hear feedback from residents. The meeting will be held Thursday at the township building at 7 p.m. Middletown residents are invited and all residents within 500 feet of the property was notified via letter, Duffy said.

The township Planning Commission will hear a version of the plan at their February 19 meeting, which will be held at 7 p.m. in the township building. Duffy said the commission will take no formal action but will offer feedback. Township officials are currently reviewing the sketch.
Duffy said there is still a ways to go before full plans for the development are presented to the township.
