Tullytown Borough has a new coordinator.
The council approved the hiring of Allison Smith of Lower Makefield to fill the part-time borough coordinator job on Tuesday. Smith, who also serves on the Pennsbury School Board, was slated to start her new job on Thursday.

Smith will be paid $25,000 per year for 25-hours of work per week. Officials said she would be able to work an extra 10 hours a week at the rate of $25 an hour, if needed.
The coordinator position does not include benefits, as it is part-time.
Chief of Police Daniel Doyle has served as interim coordinator after then-borough manager Carmen Raddi left in 2012. Doyle was paid a stipend of $250 per month to fill the coordinator role.

Councilwoman May Kutcher said Smith has a civil engineering degree.
Before the end of Doyle’s last meeting as interim coordinator, the council approved a new employee insurance policy that saves the town money.
