Rescue squad Executive Director and Chief Steve Hare came before the government and said the squad lost $45,000 in 2013. He added the squad, which has stations in Bristol and Falls townships, has seen expenses go up 17 percent in recent years while Tullytown’s contribution has not.
Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad responded to 6,500 calls last year and around 350 in Tullytown. They also provide stand-by crews for special events.
Hare said the cost of EMS is increasing and the days of volunteer-run squads are over.
