NWS: Winter Storm Watch in Effect for Monday, Punxsutawney Phil Predicts Longer Winter

Late Saturday the National Weather Service issued a winter storm watchย ย for Lower Bucks ย beginning Monday morning and extending into the Monday evening.

Forecasters are calling for snow accumulations of 4-6 inches coupled with freezing rain and sleet.

Early Monday morning rain will turn to snow, NWS ย says with snow fall beginning between 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. with temperatures expected to be in the 30’s

Slushy conditions in the early morning hours. forecasters say, will make the morning commute treacherous with the snow turning to freezing rain heading into the evening creating icy road conditions throughout the area.

With the winter storm approachingย ย Punxsutawney Phil, Sunday morning predicted six more weeks of seems like a long and brutal winter already, NBC 10 reported.ย

According to the report, “Pennsylvania’s famed groundhog emerged from his lair in front of thousands of fans around daybreak” this morning, which according to legend means winter will last for six more weeks.

The groundhog’s ย predictive reliability about weather, forecasters say, has “no predictive value,” according to the report.
