The Bristol Borough School Board is moving their meetings to the community’s only elementary school. The move is effective starting the school board’s next meeting.
Board President President Charles Groff and Board member Jeff Paleafico both cited several incidents that lead to the move from the current location, which is the council chambers in the municipal hall. Groff said the district currently uses the meeting chambers at no cost, but the building has limited parking out front.

Groff said the district paid videographer Matthew Markey $3,800 for his services between March and December 2012. No bill for 2013 has yet been received, he added.
A majority voted to approve the purchase of $21,000 in audio-visual equipment, which will be used for production of the meetings and other school events. Even though the meetings will be moving, the equipment won’t be ready until the end of February at the earliest.
Ralph DiGuiseppe III complained that the move will limit the public’s ability to watch important school district meetings on television. He also said the move should be held off until the district finds fills its projected budget gap for next year.

Dave Delong, a resident of the borough, suggested the school board should hold off until they get the budget straightened out.
In the end, DiGuiseppe and board member John Doyle agreed to cover the costs of televising the meetings until the new camera system is set up.

School district IT director Paul Hetherington told the school board the high school students will help run the audio-visual equipment.
A three camera set-up will be used to record the board’s meetings, Groff said.
