“It is with profound sadness that I confirm this news. Mary Ann worked in the Bristol Township School District for over 44 years as a teacher, building principal, special education supervisor, and director of special education-pupil services,” Superintendent Dr. Sam Lee said.
Mysliwiec, who held a degree in psychology from Fordham University and a master’s degree in special education from the College of New Jersey, was remembered by school board president Angela Nober for her dedication and always referring to the students as “kiddos.”
“She was an advocate for all of Bristol Township School District’s children or her “kiddos” as she fondly called them,” Nober said.

Mysliwiec started work as a district special education resource room teacher at Neil Armstrong Middle School in 1972. She served various teaching positions at the school and later Franklin D. Roosevelt Middle School. In 1991, she was named principal of George Washington Elementary School. Shortly thereafter, she took over the district’s special education programs and pupil services position. A post she served in until her death.
“Her leadership provided direction and support for a vast array of programs serving our special learners,” Lee said. “Ms. Mysliwiec’s vision, skill and talent brought our district support mechanisms and systems that benefited all Bristol Township students.”

Parents on social media reacted to news of the death and praised Mysliwiec’s work over the years.
“She was an educator of the highest class, but her most impressive traits were her strength, spirit, and unwavering commitment to provide the very best for the children of Bristol Township,” Lee said.
Nober may have put it best: “Bristol Township School District’s loss is Heaven’s gain.”
