The Community College Futures Assembly has chosen Bucks as one of 10 Bellwether Award finalists in the instructional programs and services category for โThe ACTion Project: All My Patients.โ
The ACTion project was a collaboration between the Department of the Arts and the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Nursing. Students from acting classes were given a mental-health diagnosis to portray for associate-degree nursing students, while each interaction was recorded by cinema/video students. Nursing students were then able to watch the recordings to get feedback on their skills.
The Community College Futures Assembly received more than 400 entries for its Bellwether Awards, which were narrowed to 10 finalists in three categories. The 30 finalists, including professors from Bucks, will present their projects at the assembly onย January 27ย in Orlando, Florida. One winner will be selected from each category by a panel of national experts.
