Reiling said Davis’ helping her family was “amazing” and she was ever so grateful to the neighbors that have helped and showed the family enduring support through times of great challenge. Reiling said her and the family will be moving into a Bristol Township rental on January 15 while work gets underway at the residence that burned down in a fire a week ago.
“We’re just real grateful for everyone and everything the community has done for us, Reiling, said.
By now everyone understands that the Levittown community supports its own when it comes to people faces crisis situations. Proof positive is the support that has come the way of the Reiling family- who lost their home last week in a devastating fire leaving them all 10 of them without permanent residence.

First it was the American Red Cross, then the community, and on ย Friday morning State Rep. Tina Davis ย (D-Bucks) stepped up to the plate and hit a home run for the family by paying $1,00o for the family’s continued stay at a local hotel until they can move into the house that was just rented to them.
Additionally, an anonymous donor kicked in $200, which picks up the rest of the hotel bill for the family.
Davis said she initially invited the family to stay with her since she “loves kids” but the family didn’t want to impose, so ย Davis did what so many others in the area have – donated to the cause.

“I love the way the community has responded and just felt compelled to do the same,” Davis said of her donation.
According to family source, Davis called Angela Reiling this morning when she heard the family’s stay, supported by the American Red Cross, was about to end.

Davis said it’s not something she wanted to publicize because she felt she was just doing “my part” to help a family in need.

The Red Cross put the family up at the hotel for three days and extended that stay for an additional three days, Red Cross spokesperson Dave Schrader said this morning,
Schrader explained the organization has helped over 1,100 family’s dealing with fires and it’s not financially feasible for the organization to fund indefinite stays.
The family, Schrader said, is more than welcome to stay at Red Cross house in Philadelphia with all expenses paid if they would like.

Davis, who has watched the community response, said she was amazed by the turnout at George Washington Elementary School for the donation drive.
“We have a community that cares about its people,” Davis said.
The anonymous donor offered no comment for this story. They simply wanted to help.
