A Falls Township man was arrested for a botched drug deal that ended with shots fired in Bensalem, police said.
Joshua Lake, 23, of Falls Township’s Fairless Hills section, and James Quinn, 24, of Bensalem, were charged Tuesday with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and related offenses. The duo were arraigned and sent to county jail on 10 percent of $500,000 cash bail.

Bensalem police officers responded to the Creekside Apartments in the 2500 block of Knights Road for a reports of shots fired at 4:40 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Several people flagged down responding officers and reported seeing a man firing a gun at a vehicle as it was leaving the parking lot.
Officers went to the apartment where residents advised them two men ran after the shooting. Police said they heard the door the apartment lock and the suspects refused to answer.
After about 30 minutes, Lake and Quinn opened the door and were arrested.

According to authorities, Lake arranged a drug deal with a man he knew from jail. Quinn became upset at some point and fired one round from a handgun as the drug dealer was trying to leave the apartment complex. Investigators also learned that Lake said he took the gun from Quinn and fired several rounds at the dealer’s car.
Both men are convicted felons and are not allowed to possess firearms.

The dealer’s vehicle was located and discovered to have a shot out rear window.
A .357 Magnum revolver with 5 spent shell casing was allegedly recovered in Quinn’s apartment.
