A crash involving multiple large trucks closed both directions of the Pennsylvania Turnpike between Street Road and Route 1 Friday morning.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes between Bensalem and Bristol Township. Fire crews were called for a rescue from one of the vehicles, but further information on that is unavailable.

At points the westbound lanes were getting through, however, all lanes were eventually blocked off. As of 8:05 a.m., the Turnpike Commission said all lanes were closed.
A witness told LevittownNow.com the front end of one tractor-trailer was heavily damaged and the concrete barrier on the highway was smashed.
