A police officer will go to trial on charges he pointed a handgun at his wife and another man.
At a preliminary hearing this week, Theodore Thieroff, 61, of Philadelphia, waived charges of two counts of simple assault, reckless endangerment, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct onto county court in Doylestown. He is currently free on $25,000 unsecured bail.

Thieroff, a patrolman in Bristol Township, is accused of aiming a gun at his wife and a man in the Langhorne section of Middletown over a weekend in November while he was off-duty.
Thieroff’s 43-year-old wife and a 40-year-old man told police who responded to the 1800 block of West End Avenue they were exiting a home when the off-duty police officer approached and pointed a gun at the man, court documents state.
“You’re done,” Thieroff is alleged to have told the man, according to court papers.

The man ran back into the home and Thieroff then pointed the gun at his wife, authorities said. She headed back toward the home and Thieroff reportedly ran off.
Thieroff was interviewed by investigators from the district attorney’s office around 2 a.m. the next morning. He told them he believed his wife was having a sexual affair with the 40-year-old man and admitted to confronting the two. However, according to court papers, he denied having the .25 caliber gun he owns with him at the time.
