MUST SEE: Despite Cold & Snow, Hearts Were Warmed by Motorcycle Clubs

On a bone chilling day where the roads started bear, a merry group of first responder-sponsored motorcycle  clubs didn’t let nasty weather stop them from delivering a Christmas to remember for two very special children in Bensalem Sunday afternoon and warming the hearts and souls of a community.

The Bikers for the Cheryn Donahue Dipaola Ride,  made up of  firefighters from Tullytown, Third District, Bensalem and Newport fire companies, took part  a journey through snow to deliver the holiday spirit.

Sponsored by the Knights of Inferno MC Bucks County Chapter, George Redner Jr, club president, said it was the second year the clubs from the area united together for the ride to support a family in need.

Gifts for both children were collected by the clubs and brought to them on the special ride Sunday afternoon.

This year the Donahue children, who  lost their mother to heart failure and who’s father is experiencing health challenges  were chosen, Redner said.

Law enforcement, firefighter and military support clubs  came together during the 2013 holiday season to accomplish the same goal and was received with resounding support from the community,  Redner said.”We wanted to spread that same kind of spirit this year and for many to come,” he added.

David, 9, and Avery, 3, beamed outside their grandparents home as the caravan of first responders and fire companies came to rest in front of the Bensalem home in perfect winter wonderland conditions.

“It’s unbelievable that all these people care so much about two kids who have suffered a family tragedy. It’s amazing!,”   grandfather Tom Donahue said emotions cresting in his voice as the  snow began relent.

Neighbors looked on, tears welling up, while young Avery hugged Santa repeatedly, then turning to her grandparents, glowing with the Christmas cheer as a child can only bring to a gathering.

“It’s just amazing to see all these guys come out  they are special group of men. They braved this nasty weather because they were not going to let anything deter getting in the way of Avery and David a special Christmas,” Jacqui Redner, spokesperson  for the Knights of Inferno, said.

Even the toughest looking members of the  motorcycle clubs stood, watched and were overcome with emotion  by what the gift-giving did for the Donahue family.

“Wow,” with the shake of a head in approval of a Christmas deed well done, as one the dozens on hand felt the power of giving; the power of giving life to the  holiday spirit for two children in Lower Bucks County.

Due to the snow the ride started earlier than expected but stopped along the way as the groups changed  from cruising over on their bikes  making to warmer and wiser choice of riding over in cars for the trip stretching from Main Street in Tullytown, down Levittown Parkway onto Mill Creek Parkway and finally ending up on Militia Street in Bensalem while a neighborhood watched the arrival of dozens from the clubs and representatives of the fire companies.
