At the request of Tullytown Fire Chief Rick Johnson, Tullytown council approved an additional $9,000 be added to the Tullytown Fire Department portion of the final budget for 2014.
The fire department asked for $120,000 but was originally only approved for what they received last year.

Johnson, on behalf of the Tullytown Fire Department stated that the additional funds would be put towards the new air packs desperately needed for the department. The air-packs are used when a firefighter is in danger and needs air and rescue, according to Johnson
โWe are putting in a grant for new air packs,” said Johnson. โIf we donโt get the grant we need to pay for the air packs ourselves.โ
