
Bristol Township police recovered the handgun they feared a suspect had with him when he fled on foot in the area of Franklin D. Roosevelt Middle School on Thursday morning.
Lt. Terry Hughes told LevittownNow.com the gun was found after officers searched the suspect’s Chevrolet Camero, which he crashed into a tree near the school before he fled on foot. Police were able to taser suspect Louis “Ace” Scott, 23, of Bristol Borough, and take him into custody. The school remained locked down for more than an area as officers searched the area for the gun and drugs they feared he may have ditched, police said.

On Thursday afternoon, Scott was arraigned a warrant filed by state police in October. Scott was wanted on drug charges.
According to court papers, Scott, a woman and 6-year-old child were pulled over by state police during a Bristol Township traffic stop on October 7. A trooper discovered 18.2 grams of marijuana and a large amount of cash. Scott said he sells drugs in the Bristol area due to being laid off from work, police said.
School officials called the lockdown “precautionary.”

Scott was sent to Bucks County jail on 10 percent of $150,000 bail.
