Bucks County Community College students, faculty, and staff joined to “Take a Step for Diabetes,” a one-mile walk around the Newtown campus, to mark World Diabetes Day on Tuesday November 12. Participants included members of the student-run Nursing Club, Future Teachers of America, Pre-Med Club, the PiXi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honor society, practical nursing students, and preschoolers from the college’s Early Learning Center. Before stepping out, the group learned about the disease from certified diabetes educators from St. Mary Medical Center. Participants also formed the World Diabetes day logo – a blue circle – on the campus quad.
