Court paperwork alleges it was a hell of a two weeks for a Falls Township man accused of stealing nearly 10,000 cash and several hundred dollars from credit cards.

It all started on November 2 when Robert Chobert Jr., 28, stole between $9,600 and $9,700 in cash from his father, according to police. The cash and two credit cards were reported stolen from a trailer the two shared in the 1600 block of Bristol Pike.

Chobert’s father noticed the charge cards were missing and later discovered $322 in unauthorized charges, police said.

Falls Township police officer Jarrod Eisenhauer spoke with Chobert on Tuesday and the 28-year-old admitted to the theft, according police.

Court documents outline Chobert’s statement that he spent the cash on hotels, food, marijuana, cell phones, gas, cabs, gifts for others and at a  local strip bar. Police also add that credit charges at Walmart and a Denny’s restaurant were also fraudulently made.

Authorities say Chobert was able to obtain $200 from ATM after he contacted one of the credit card companies and formed a PIN for the card in his father’s name.

Chobert is charge with theft, receiving stolen property, forgery, access device fraud and identity theft. He was arraigned before District Judge Jan Vislosky Tuesday afternoon and sent to county jail on 10 percent of $75,000 bail.
