5 Reasons Why the Truman ‘Roar’ Video is Awesome

Since Harry S. Truman High School’s entry video to the Good Morning America and Katy Perry “Roar” remake contest became public last week, the video has won praise from readers of LevittownNow.com, visitors to Q102’s website and viewers on YouTube.

While Pennsbury and Neshaminy high schools also posted videos, the reactions to Truman’s have been the loudest.

Last month, Perry challenged high school students to remake her โ€œRoarโ€ music video. The winning school, picked by Good Morning America, will receive a free concert from Perry.

Below we give five of the reasons why we think Truman’s “Roar” video is awesome.

1. It seems like all, if not, a majority of the student body and teaching staff took part.

2. The students seem to have carefully planned every move in the two-minute-long video.

Hereโ€™s the description entered on YouTube below Trumanโ€™s submission:

Harry S Truman High School is located in Levittown, PA and we created this video for the Good Morning America contest for Katy Perryโ€™s ROAR video. Our school sometimes has an unfair reputation that creates an unrealistic impression of the students. In reality, we are a diligent, resourceful, and diverse family. We show our pride and shatter the negative stereotypes in our ROAR video. You will see we are incredibly diverse in not only race, but gender, sexuality and special needs. Everyone is completely equal, as we show when all 1600 students spell out the word ROAR on our football field. This is our home and we canโ€™t wait to spread our tiger fever and make everyone hear us ROAR!

5. The final reason: This kid.
