1 Dead in Firery Crash on Newtown/Middletown Border

One person was killed and another hurt after a crash that mangled and burned a Corvette.

The crash happened just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning on the Newtown Bypass near Woodbourne Road in Newtown Township.

Emergency crews from Middletown, Newtown, Penndel and Yardley responded to the scene of the horrific-looking accident, according to the Newtown Fire Association.

Scanner reports indicated that crews arrived to find the injured person heavily entrapped in the car. They were eventually removed and taken to the hospital.

6abc.com reports the car hit a median and traffic light before flipping and catching on fire.
