According to police, Fluck got in a fish fight with his grandson, 23-year-old Edward Connelly, when the young man allegedly came home intoxicated and became belligerent and abusive with family members at their shared home on the 800 block of Linton Street in the Croydon section of the township.

Connelly got in a fist fight with his grandfather and punching his mother in the face as she tried to break up the fracas, police said. Fluck is said to have fallen during the fight.

He left and room and quickly came back and, according to witness statements to police, shot Connelly “point blank” in the back one time. Court documents say the 67-year-old fired at the young man’s neck a second time and missed.

The mother told police “everyone was in disbelief and questioned her father why he shot his grandson.” Fluck then returned to his bedroom and closed the door, police say.

Connelly then got up, went outside briefly, then re-entering the residence, heading straight for his grandfather’s room, the probable cause affidavit says. Connelly broke down the door to Fluck’s room and another fight between the two men took place, according to police.

The mother told police the she and others were attempting to breakup the fight when Fluck took out a small knife and stabbed his grandson in the back causing a second injury his younger kin, police say.

Connelly’s mother told police that her father didn’t need to shoot her son, there were  no lives danger.

According to Police, Fluck in 1980 was convicted of felony burglary in Philadelphia which would prohibit Fluck from owning, possessing, firing or using a gun in the Pennsylvania.
