A alleged thief was caught pawning jewelry he stole from his mother.
Donald Buscher, 32, of Bristol Township’s Levittown section, is charged with theft and receiving stolen property. He was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Joanne V. Kline and sent to county jail on 10 percent of $15,000 bail.

According to police, Buscher’s mother called police on Saturday afternoon to report that jewelry hidden in a shoebox was stolen. She said a 14kt yellow gold necklace and a pink charm with diamonds inside a gold heart were gone, police said.
A break in the mystery came when Buscher’s mother found a receipt from a New Falls Road pawn shop, according to an affidavit of probable cause. The receipt reportedly was addressed to Buscher and was for an item pawned in March.
The woman went to the pawn shop, discovered her necklace and a pawn notice. A store worker confirmed to her the pawned necklace belonged to her, court documents say.

Bristol Township police Officer Timothy Filoon handled the case and confiscated the stolen necklace and diamond charm from the pawn shop. He was able to return it to Buscher’s mother, police said.
Court documents show that Buscher lives with his mother.

An employee at he pawn shop said the shop gave Buscher a loan for the jewelry and he had failed to pay it, police said.
