A homeless man was hospitalized late Thursday morning for second- and third-degree burns he said he suffered when his tent caught fire.
The man’s burns are several days old, and he has been transferred from St. Mary Medical Center to Temple University Hospital’s burn center in Philadelphia for further treatment, Fire Marshal Jim McGuire said.

The man told authorities a location where his camp is and the residents of Parkvale Avenue home told investigators a different area where they know he frequents. McGuire said both locations were searched and the encampment was not located.
The fire marshal’s office investigation into the incident continues.
