A woman plead guilty in county court on Thursday for being drunk behind the wheel of her black Acura TSX when she struck a couple on a motorcycle in Bristol Township in September 2012.
Devon Crispo, 27, of Bensalem, will serve between 4 to 12 years in state prison. Court records show that Crispo will also have to pay court fess and fines, take highway safety classes and undergo substance abuse treatment. She plead guilty to charges of homicide by vehicle while DUI, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, homicide by vehicle and DUI.

The fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Neshaminy and Newportville roads. Crispo ignored a stop sign and turned her Acura in front of the 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by John Chester, 37, of Bristol Township, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Chester’s girlfriend, Brianna O’Driscoll, suffered serious injuries in the crash and is still recovering.
Crispo told police in an interview she drank 3 glasses of wine before the getting on the road. The 27-year-old also admitted to investigators she had smoked marijuana and taken pain medication.
A police search of the Acura discovered a burnt marijuana cigar, a half empty bottle of wine, an unopened bottle of wine and several prescription pills that were not in Crispo’s name. Police said her blood alcohol content was above the legal limit.

Crispo was heard saying after the crash, “Oh my God, I’m going to get another DUI!”
At a preliminary hearing earlier this year, it was revealed that Chester’s blood alcohol level just over the .08 limit. Investigators said it played no role in the crash.

“The primary factor that caused this crash, and directly lead to the death of John Chester,and the serious injuries to Brianna O’Driscoll, was Devon Crispo, while under the influence of alcohol, marijuana and prescribed medications, pulling out in front of him from a posted stop sign,” Bristol Township traffic Sgt. Chuck Burns said earlier this year.
According to Chester’s family, he served in the Army for 11 years and also spent time in the National Guard. His mother said in January that he had no children and had recently begun working for a local company as a maintenance man.
