5 Best Places in the Levittown Area to See Friday Night’s Rocket Launch


If you’ve ever wanted to stand in your backyard and see a rocket launch into space, tonight is the night.

The Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) is scheduled to take off from Wallops Island, Va. at 11:27 p.m. Friday night, according to NASA.

The unmanned, robotic mission will gather more information on the atmosphere of the moon.

Data released by NASA and the company which created the rocket states the Levittown area will be able to see the rocket blast through the night sky about a minute after launch. The spacecraft will be visible in the southeast portion of the area.

The National Weather Service reports that patches of clouds could be possible around the time of the launch.

4. Maple Point Middle School in Middletown
