Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler is looking to sell some things. The items he is selling have been purchased using the profits of drug sales and were confiscated by authorities, he told LevittownNow.com.
The District Attorney’s office is currently selling 53 items on government auction site Municibid. The items are of a wide variety, including chainsaws, televisions and comic books.

“We just want to realize the most we can,” District Attorney David Heckler said, speaking of the profits the county can make from the sale. He added that all money raised from the auction, aside from a small percentage paid to Municibid, will go toward drug investigations and drug take-back events.

The county’s top prosecutor said he authorized Chief of County Detectives Chris McAteer to put items seized during drug investigations on the auction site, which Bristol Township is currently using to sell off old equipment. The county uses a different process to sell real estate and vehicles that are seized.

Previously, the county would stage auction events to get rid of the items. Heckler said he expects the online sales to save on some overhead.
The bidding started on Monday and runs until Friday, September 6.
