For the children of Christ’s Home in Warminster, Christmas came in August this year.

Around 12 p.m. Saturday, the children were full of excitement and surprise when members of the Bucks County Motorcycle Association (B.C.M.A.) rode in to deliver three vans worth of donated toys. Fronting the motorcycle lineup, was Santa to bring in some summer holiday cheer.

“The event, which is in its second year, began when we all expressed interest in getting involved with a charity run,” said Bob Bullick, B.C.M.A. President. “Rich Jerrell, a friend of the associations vice president, was the one who was initially turned on to the idea of organizing a charity run and donating toys to children in need.”

Various members across the B.C.M.A. spectrum gathered at Hurricane Jacks on New Falls Road Saturday morning before departing for Christ’s Home at 11 a.m.. Behind dozens of motorcycles, were three vans full of toys for the disadvantaged children. Collections ensued earlier where members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles filled up an entire van themselves.

Jerrell, who passed away this past year was remembered at the ride before kickstands went up. Joe Hanak, B.C.M.A. member and proud Santa, held a moment of silence and dedicated this years ride in Jerrell’s honor.
