Among the many fire stations responding to Friday night’s tragic fire at the Racquet Apartment Complex was the Newportville Fire Companyย (NFC)
Founded in 1927, the station has provided coverage for Bristol Township and its mutual aid communities of Bensalem and Middletown Township, as the station did Friday night when the call went out to fire companies throughout Lower Bucks to drown out the massive fire at the apartment complex.

Now NFC is hoping the surrounding community can return the favor tomorrow as they hold their semi annual auction and baked goods sale
The station staffed with volunteers and depends on the generosity of the community to fulfill its needs in terms of safety equipment and support supplies for their volunteers at the ย station nestled on New Falls Road in Bristol Township.
George Mulherin, a trustee,ย organizer and 30 year volunteer firefighter, said ‘twice a year we ask the community to donate items that we’ll auction off which we later use to purchase things we need for staff. Community supporters, like the Roadhouse help spread the word also encouraging people to bake items we’ll auction off and sell.”

Sponsoring, and hosting ย the event is the Roadhouse Inn.
