Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said Monday that the fire at Maryanne’s Diner in Croydon was arson.
The early-morning fire that ย ripped through the popular eatery in Bristol Township left the building in shambles.

Dippolito wouldn’t comment on specifics but did say the case has been turned over to Bucks County Detectives.
The Fire Marshal’s office completed its investigation into the fire that damaged the kitchen and back of the restaurant on Monday.
Firefighters from Croydon, Levittown and Bensalem were called to the diner in the 200 block of Bristol Pike (Route 13) at about 1:30 a.m. Friday.ย The blaze was placed under control shortly before 2 a.m.

Officials continue to search for evidence by looking at surveillance video from surrounding businesses a police source with knowledge of the investigation said hoping to find who started the fire on tape.
Images sent to LevittownNow.com by readers show yellow caution tape surrounding the one-story business, which had itโs front windows shattered.

The breakfast and lunch shop is usually open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to a business listing.
