It was a ย Tour De Force ย of ย all kinds last night at Jo-Jo’s Ice Cream and Water Ice as several hundred turned out to support Logan’s Fund
First responders from throughout the area, and even everyone’s favorite K-9 “Trigger,” came out for the ย fundraiser yesterday supporting the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP).

Logan was born with Treacher Collins Syndrome, a condition that affects development of facial bones and tissue, his mother Nicole Killeen of Falls Township, said last night beaming at the outpouring of support from ย the entire community.
“This is simply amazing. All the first responders in the area coming out to support Logan like this,” ย she said
Killeen said the fundraiser comes out the war feelings her family has for the CHOP and its staff saying that since Logan has started to receive treatment there the family is made to feel as if they are the only people at the facility, highlighting the special way the family feels in terms of getting Logan;s needs met at CHOP.

“There isn’t another place in the world I could think of could compare,” she said.
The festive atmosphere, highlighted by a ย Chinese auction, tons of ย much-needed ice cream for cooling off, and Jo-Jo’s owner Debbie Kalbach, who was the host for the evening, said “this is like coming home week for those that turned out tonight. Everyone seems to know someone!

Nearing the afternoon hour today, Killen said at last count approximately $7,000 had been raised from last nights effort,.
She thought more was on the way in the form of checks from supporters who could not attend.
