“You’re not going anywhere.”

Those were the words a Falls Township woman told police her boyfriend said after he beat her in front of the couple’s 3-year-old daughter and dragged her into a bedroom at the apartment they shared, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed late last week in district court.

Curtis Reed, 28, of Plaza Boulevard in the Morrisville section of Falls, was arrested and charged with unlawful restraint, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, false imprisonment and harassment.

Reed is accused of attacking and then closing his injured girlfriend in a bedroom.

According to police, Reed’s girlfriend spoke with police last Friday afternoon to report the alleged assault that happened on Tuesday.

The woman told police that she returned home to their apartment just before 9 p.m. and Reed called to her to a back bedroom, according to court documents. The 3-year-old child followed her mother.

As she was getting to the bedroom, according to police, the woman noticed Reed “appeared extremely angry” and tried to run, but fell before making it to the apartment door.

Reed then struck his girlfriend in the right eye and she felt it “pop,” causing the eye to swell shut, the woman told police, according to court papers. Reed continued hitting the woman with his closed fists, even though as one point she said raised her arm to block the punches, police reported in an affidavit of probable cause.

The woman told police she was unsure of how much of the alleged attack the couple’s young daughter saw. According to police, the woman said she suspected Reed thought the young girl saw enough, which lead to him dragging the woman to the bedroom.

After dragging the woman into the bedroom and closing the daughter outside, she said he continued punching her and possibly kicked her in the ribs, police said.

The woman said Reed only stopped attacking her once he saw her face was bleeding, police said.

Reed told the woman she was not leaving and left her, according to court papers. The woman added that the young girl tried to get in the bedroom but was blocked by Reed.

When police spoke with the woman on Friday afternoon, Officer John Vella wrote in court papers that her right eye was swollen, deeply bruised and red from a broken blood vessel. She also featured cuts, busies and scabs on other parts of the her body and pain in her ribs, which showed no visible injuries, police said.

At the Plaza Boulevard apartment, police said they found small red stains that were consistent with blood.

Reed was interviewed later by police. He said the couple had been “at odds” but that he did not touch her, police said.

The 28-year-old said his girlfriend left the day of the alleged fight and returned home the next morning, and she had a black eye, police said. He added that his girlfriend would not tell him where she received the injury.

Reed’s girlfriend did accuse him of being “very controlling” and said he may have been upset because she stopped at her mother’s house before coming home.

Reed was arraigned before District Judge Jan Vislosky and sent to county jail on 10 percent of $150,000 bail.
