At 3:40 p.m. the National Weather Service announced it was cancelling the “Heat Watch” issued yesterday to a ย heat warning for Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to the NWS , ย the Heat Index will peak out around 105 on both days, temperatures thought to be in the low 90’s are expected to hover around 95 degrees.

The cresting heat indexes will occur 2 and ย 6 p.m. ย Monday through Wednesday, NWS says.

Highly urbanized areas might not see any relief as evening arrives with temps being in the mid 80’s throughout.

The excessive heat poses a danger to those working outdoors and without air conditioners, says the service.

The most strongly effected by the hellish conditions are those over 50 and children.

NWS is prognosticating that extreme heat will last till Saturday.
