Officials from the local Freightliner franchise came before the Bristol Township Zoning Board Monday night to request a variance that would allow them to fix and sell large trucks at their new facility.
The company plans to move from a site on Runway Road to a sightly larger facility nearby on Green Lane near the site of the old 3M factory. The new building has yet to be constructed but will resemble a dealership and ship just constructed in Hagerstown, Md.
Freightliner sales official Paul T. Myers told the zoning board business has picked up and the company is looking to expand its business, adding that it is possible the company could doubling the 30 jobs it already has in the township.

The new facility and added jobs are need to keep up with the growing customer base, Myers said.
