
A Bristol Borough man attending a party on Spruce Street, who failed to follow police directives when ordered to leave the area of an unruly party, was arrested Saturday night after he struck an officer in the face.
The incident began when police arrived the scene in response to a loud outdoor party, authorities say. The party had approximately 200 people attending, drinking and smoking pot while in the street, police say. According to court records, people were yelling “f**k the police” and threatening to let a pit bull lose on a police K-9 dog.

Authorities ordered the party -goers to ceases and desist immediately when Douglas Snelling, 26, refused to leave after being advised to do so several times, police say.
Additional units arrived on the scene, Snelling continued to curse and yell at officers, after being directed one more time to leave, the defendant was arrested by Bristol Borough officers, court records say.
Snelling resisted police attempts to place him under arrest, punching one officer in the mouth and struggling with several others. The 26-yearold was finally placed under arrest with the assistance of the K-9 and officers, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Snelling was arraigned was District Court Judge Michael Burns and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 17 on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and other associated charges according to online court documents.
He is currently out on bail in lieu of 10 percent of $5,000.00
