Convicted Felon Arrested for Gun Possession, Cops Say

A Bristol Township man was arrested after his wife told police he pointed a gun at her.

Gerald Schumaker, 39, of Schumacher Drive, was charged with persons not to possess, use, manufacture, control, sell or transfer firearms and simple assault after an incident that happened at the home he shared with his wife early Monday morning.

Schumaker’s wife said he pointing a 40 caliber Beretta handgun at her during an argument shortly before 2 a.m., police said.

According to court records, Schumaker is a convicted felon and is not legally allowed to have a firearm. Police did not identify where the 39-year-old obtained the weapon.

He posted 10 percent of $15,000 bail Monday afternoon and was ordered by District Judge Joanne Kline not to have contact with his wife.
