Serious Injuries in Sunday Motorcycle Crash

Two people suffered serious injuries when their motorcycle was involved in a crash during the predawn hours of Sunday, police said.

A silver 2000 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling east on Western Avenue making the left turn onto northbound Veterans Highway (Route 413) in Bristol Township when it “contacted” a 1993 Yamaha Virago motorcycle traveling south of Veterans Highway at 3:08 a.m., police said.

The male driver of the motorcycle and his female passenger were both critically hurt, according to a statement from officials. The driver of the Jetta was uninjured, police said.

The Bristol Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit is handling the investigation of the crash and said the driver of the Jetta is cooperating.

Veterans Highway between Route 13 and Western Avenue was closed from the time of the accident until 7:15 a.m., police said.

The Bensalem Rescue Squad, Bristol Borough Police, Bristol Township Fire Police, Bucks County Rescue Squad,  and Croydon Fire Company assisted at the scene.
