A man was arrested on Memorial Day for allegedly waving a gun at a crowd of people following an argument, police said.

Bristol Township police were called to Lakeland Avenue in the Venice Ashby Housing Complex at 8:39 p.m. on Monday for reports of a black man brandishing a gun. An arriving patrolman said in court documents residents told them the suspect was still in the area when he pulled up.

Officers received information the man who waved the gun was at a unit in the 1900 block of Foster Avenue Circle, police said. Authorities arrived to find Scott leaving the house. Down to the clothing he wore, the young man matched the description given to police by residents, court documents said.

However, the suspect did not have a gun on him when arrested, police said.

Several witnesses confirmed to police the man – identified as Syeed Scott, 20, of Philadelphia – was the man who waved a handgun at a group of people after fighting with a “juvenile” female and family members, according to law enforcement.
