1 Hospitalized After Middletown House Fire

A Friday afternoon fire injured one person and damaged a house in Levittown.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m.,  a fire that started in second-floor closet damaged a house on Hollow Road in the Levittown section of Middletown Township Friday, Fire Marshal Jim McGuire said.

One resident was transported to St. Mary Medical Center for smoke inhalation by the Penndel-Middletown Rescue Squad and is in stable condition, McGuire said.

According to officials on scene, crews arrived to heavy smoke showing from the house. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly.

The Fire Marshal’s office is working to determine the cause of the afternoon blaze, which was discovered by a teenager, McGuire told LevittownNow.com.

While the fire was contained to the closet and hallway, smoke and water damage was spread throughout the William Levitt-built house, McGuire said.

Langhorne-Middletown, Parkland, Penndel and William Penn fire companies responded to the scene.
