Bristol Man Forges Check for $450

A Bristol Borough man was arraigned Wednesday by District Court Judge Frank W. Peranteau Sr. on  forgery and access device charges.

According to a police affidavit, Bristol Borough Police responded to a burglary call on the 1100 block of Radcliffe Street on March 13. Upon arrival, officers observed that a rear door window was smashed, entry made, and box of  Wells Fargo checks opened with one removed.

The homeowners wife visited the bank and was told a check in the amount of $450 was recently cashed by Ian Chrupalyk, 35, of Radcliffe Street, according to court documents.

Inspection of the financial instrument, showed a check written out to Chrupalyk for  $450, but the endorsement did not match the account owners signature.

Police arrested Chrupalyk, at his home on March 13 and he was sent to Bucks County Prison,

On Wednesday he was released on $30,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 10.

He faces 2nd degree felony and misdemeanor charges.
