
The Falls Township Republican Party Committee (FTRC) announced over the weekend the endorsement of five candidates running for office in the May 2013 primaries.
Community volunteers and activists heard speeches from potential candidates at the last ย Wednesday’s FTRC ย meeting which took place at Fallsington Library.

Candidates endorsedย unanimously, according to a press release were Andrew Dell for Township Supervisor, Kieran Halpin for Tax Collector, and Kevin Risner for Auditor.
Dell, the statement says, ย sees ย fiscal transparency ย as a major issue in his bid to become Supervisor. He wants details of ย how the current board is spending ย taxpayer dollars pointing out the board, spendsย approximatelyย 2 million a month without providing a detailed accounting.
Halpin, the statement says, detailed his experiences managing budgets for the state and federalย environmentalย agencies.

FTRC ย also vetted potential candidates for two seats, by inquiring about ย important issues surrounding ย labor, education and ย merger talk , ย for the Pennsbury School Board.
Skip Tenney, a certified public accountant from Lower Makefield and Casey Lawerence ย owner of ย a video production business, earned the support ย of the committee.

“The FTRCย believesย Tenney and Lawrence as fiscal conservatives and small business owners will be independent voices on the school board with the skills and ability to protect taxpayers and ensure and quality education for our children,” the statement says.
The Committee, which advocates for fiscalย responsibilityย at all levels of government and the protecting of ย civilย liberties, meets everyย thirdย Wednesday of the month ย 7 p.m. at the Fallsington Library.
