The truck was discovered off the roadway and in the woods near Pegasus Radio Control Airfield between Lake Luxembourg and Maple Point Middle School in Middletown Township around 7:30 a.m.

Bucks County Rangers, the law enforcement agency that patrols county park property, responded to the report and found the truck in the woods. The driver was deceased, officials said.

The driver, a man in his late 60s, was found in the truck, said James O’Malley, a county spokesperson.

Frank Farry, the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company chief, said the truck smashed into a tree after leaving the roadway and had to be pulled out of the woods.

The cause of the crash was under investigation as of late morning, according to O’Malley.

A source said it appeared the truck was in the woods for several hours before it was discovered Friday morning.

The Bucks County Rangers were assisted at the scene by the Bristol Township and Middletown Township police departments. The Middletown Township Department of Emergency Services and Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company were also on the scene.

As of 11:30 a.m., rangers and a tow company were removing the gray pickup truck from the woods.
